HERITAGE There are reports of “ground disturbance” at the Scheduled Ancient Monument of High Hill Littlehampton Road Worthing. Multiple holes have been discovered, believed to be caused by metal detecting.

Electric livestock fencing on farmland in Lancing was damaged overnight between 22nd and 23rd May.  30 metres of fencing was tampered with and posts broken, leaving the field open and livestock at risk of escape onto nearby roads.

Both barn doors were smashed and the lock broken on a barn in the Petworth area. Nothing was stolen but damage is estimated at £300.00.

An outbuilding in Faygate Lane, Faygate was entered by pulling down a rear fence and a leaf blower was stolen.

A house in Crawley Road Faygate was broken into and 2 bicycles (1 Adult and 1 Childs’) were stolen along with Titan hedge trimmer, 1 Stihl hedge trimmers and 2 Dewalt drills. Estimated value £2,000.00.

A garden centre in Pulborough was broken into overnight between 21st and 22nd May.  Damage was caused when a fence was cut and entry forced to a shed and office.  A generator and laser levels were among the items stolen.

Trespassers entered private land around Dial Post then caused disturbance and damage within a campsite area.  A burn mark found in a wooden building evidences highly irresponsible behaviour which could have led to a far more serious incident.

Two Quad Bikes were stolen from a farm in Winchelsea, due to the fact that they were fitted with trackers they were both recovered in an operation involving three police forces.
