Residents have told us that anti-social and dangerous riding of motorcycles, e-bikes and e-scooters is a growing concern in our communities, and we want to reassure you that we are listening and taking action. Reports of nuisance riding, speeding, reckless behaviour and the criminal use of powered two-wheelers have increased significantly in recent years, often causing alarm to residents and creating real risks for other road users and pedestrians.
To tackle the issue, Surrey Police is this week launching Operation Scramble, a joint operation with Sussex Police focused on disrupting the illegal and anti-social use of e-bikes, e-scooters and electric motorbikes.
Our officers will be carrying out dedicated enforcement activity in local communities, using a range of tactics. We will also be working to educate riders about the law and the dangers associated with non-compliant and illegally modified vehicles.
This activity is part of our wider commitment to addressing the issues that matter most to local people, and we will be regularly sharing updates on results, arrests, vehicle seizures and other positive outcomes.
If you have concerns about nuisance riding in your area, please continue to report it to us, by completing this form. Your information helps us identify hotspots, deploy resources effectively and take action where it is needed most. | ||
