Reigate and Banstead Police Safer Neighbourhood Team
Dear Residents, Welcome to the Police Update for past week. The message includes personal fraud (Scams), burglaries and vehicle thefts reported between the 9th October 2025 to 16th October 2025.

We are appealing for the public's help to find 49-year-old Scott Matthews who is wanted for multiple shoplifting offences and failing to appear at court. Matthews is described as a White man around 5'11" tall and of slim build. He has short brown hair and blue eyes. He has links to Reigate and Banstead, Caterham and Sutton. Personal Fraud (Scams) in the Borough. Records show that there have been six reports of Personal Fraud in the Borough during the last week. These included reports of a Job Application Fraud, a Courier Fraud, Rogue Trader, Investment Scam, and a Valuation Fraud (The suspect claiming to be an expert took the item away to value it with no intention of returning it).
Burglaries North 15/10/2025 01:20. St. Margarets Road, Coulsdon. Residential Garage Burglary. Method of Entry – Forced entry through the garage door. The suspects left when disturbed by an occupant of the property. Stolen: Nothing taken. (PR 45250125428)
Central Between 12/10/2025 23:00 to 13/10/2025 07:00. Fairhaven Road, Road. Residential Outbuilding Burglary. Method of Entry – Forced entry into the garden Summer House. Stolen: E- Bicycle charging equipment and a bottle of alcohol. (PR 45250124593) Between 13/10/2025 18:00 to 14/10/2025 07:00. Nailsworth Crescent, Merstham. Residential Outbuilding Burglary.
