Your questions answered: Stop search and use of force

“What’s Surrey Police’s policy for stop searching teenagers?” “Can I join a shift to better understand how stop and search works?”

These were just a couple of the thoughtful questions raised during our last Q&A on stop and search and use of force. We covered a wide range of topics — and we’re back again to hear more from you.

Join us on Wednesday, 18 June, from 5–7pm for a live comment Q&A in our dedicated Facebook group. Senior officers will be on hand to answer your questions and discuss how we use these powers in our communities.

We understand that many people may have concerns or want to know more about how stop and search and use of force are applied. That’s why we regularly review our practices — both internally and through an independent External Scrutiny Panel, which examines data and body-worn video footage on a quarterly basis to ensure fairness and accountability.

These sessions are part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and building trust. We want to hear your views and answer your questions. Join us on Wednesday, when the Q&A will take place in our dedicated Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/505297824459189

Not on Facebook? No problem — just reply to this email with your question, and we’ll make sure it’s put to our Force Leads during the session.
