Crime prevention advice: https://www.surrey.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/

We recently received multiple reports of a group of young people persistently visiting shops in North #Leatherhead and stealing alcohol, sandwiches, sweets and soft drinks.

The Safer Neighbourhood Team began an investigation which led to them arresting three people and inviting a further three in for interview. Following that, all six were banned from the stores or given bail condition to not enter the stores. Since this, the stores have not reported any further similar incidents, and they have also reported that ASB linked to the thefts has decreased.

We continue to work with business owners, and this result demonstrates our commitment to our retail crime strategy which you can read more about by clicking the link in the comments.

If you are concerned about shoplifting in your local area, you can report a non-urgent crime by visiting our website. You can also make an anonymous report to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. If you see a crime in progress, call 999.

Message from Martin Jenic   / See attached letter

My name is Martin, and I work for ECF - a specialist community engagement company. We are currently working on behalf of Surrey County Council to recruit a diverse group of local residents in North Leatherhead to take part in a series of community conversations.

These conversations will bring people together to discuss what it’s like to live in the area – including how they get around, how they use local spaces and amenities, and how they connect with Leatherhead Town Centre.

To help us reach more local residents, I’m writing to ask whether you would be happy to share a participation letter with your organisation’s community. The letter, attached to this email includes a QR code that links to a short application form for those who would like to get involved.

By getting involved, residents will have the chance to share what matters most to them, explore potential changes, and help shape more sustainable travel options in North Leatherhead. Participants will also be entered into a prize draw to win an iPad mini and can earn rewards and prizes for walking, cycling, and using public transport. No specialist knowledge is required – just local knowledge and lived experience as a resident.

Please let me know if you would be happy to share this opportunity with your network, or if you have any questions or need further information.

Kind regards,

Martin Jenic

A few weeks back we asked you what you, the #Surrey community, would like to learn more about. One of the topics you asked for was major incidents. 👮

A major incident is an event or situation with a range of serious consequences, which requires special arrangements to be implemented by one or more emergency service agencies.

We regularly attend scenario-based training sessions alongside other partner agencies including Surrey Fire and Rescue Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service where we apply our contingency plans in line with our response to a major incident. Here are some photos from a recent training session at #Guildford Train Station.

Criminals are experts at impersonating people. They spend hours researching you for their scams, especially when committing romance fraud.
